Human wharton’s jelly cells-isolation and characterization in different growth conditions

The enzyme solution with tissue is taken out and put in the stomacher strainer bags with inner tissue filter at the rate of 25 ml of enzyme solution per bag. The air in the bag is removed to prevent the bag from rupturing and the bag is sealed at least twice at the top using a heat sealer. The bag is placed in the stomacher 400 Circulator and the stomacher is run at 150 rpm for 10 minutes at 37˚C.

Enhanced Immunogenicity to Mycobacterium tuberculosis by Vaccination with an Alphavirus Plasmid Replicon Expressing Antigen 85A

The Stomacher® 80 was used to blend lungs and spleens of sacrificed animals. The study found that even with the optimum dose of the vaccine there was no further or enhanced protection against m.b tuberculosis.

Optimization of Periprosthetic Culture for Diagnosis of Propionibacterium acnes Prosthetic Joint Infection

Tissue specimens were homogenized in 3 ml of sterile saline using a Seward Stomacher 80, and the sterility of each vial of saline was confirmed at the time of use by bacterial
culture.

These results support the need for a minimum culture incubation period of 13 days to be applied to both aerobic and anaerobic culture media for all periprosthetic specimens. Optimal recovery of infecting organisms from PJI specimens will be an important component in generating a universal definition for PJI due to indolent agents of infection, such as P. acnes.

Development and Validation of a Quantitative Real-Time PCR Assay Using Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer Technology for Detection of Aspergillus fumigatus in Experimental Invasive Pulmonary Aspergillosis

Lung tissue in each individual rabbit was sampled and cultured by excision of a representative region of the lung. Each fragment was weighed individually, placed in sterile stomacher® bags, and homogenized with sterile saline for 15 s per tissue sample in a Stomacher® 80.

Regulation of breast cancer stem cell activity by signaling through the notch 4 receptor

The Stomacher® 80 was used to blend solid tumors for 12 minutes.

Notch receptor signaling pathways play an important role not only in normal breast development but also in breast cancer development and progression. We assessed the role of Notch receptors in stem cell activity in breast cancer cell lines and nine primary human tumor samples. Our findings suggest that Notch4-targeted therapies will be more effective than targeting Notch1 in suppressing breast cancer recurrence, as it is initiated by breast cancer stem cells.

Comparison Of XRF, TXRF, AND ICP-MS Methods for determination of mercury in face cream

The purpose of this study was to develop, evaluate and compare, ICP-MS, XRF, and TXRF methods for accurate quantitation of mercury in 10 different face cream samples. The Stomacher® 80 was used as part of the XRF method.

Effects of Reproductive Hormones on Experimental Vaginal Candidiasis

The Stomacher was used to process genitourinary tissue in an investigation of vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). This is an opportunistic mucosal infection caused by Candida albicans that affects large numbers of otherwise healthy women of childbearing age. Continue reading
